I want to ask this question, is the CHURCH meeting the standard in Matthew chapter 5? or we are beating about the bush. To me, the church is too much legalistic. Example, in a lot of churches, if you don't pay your tithe, dues and other welfare monies, when you are in trouble, nobody will help you. The church will look through their log books to see whether you've been paying your tithe regularly, when they find out that you don't pay tithe and dues, then they will not help you.

2. It seems there is too much power play and position consciousness in the church. Everybody is trying to prove something to somebody. Some say, I will prove to you that when God called me you were not there. There is envy, backbiting, manpleasing, gossiping, jealousy etc. Someway somehow, someone is not comfortable with somebody. Pastors are diluting messages to hit people who have offended them in the congregation.

read and ponder upon the following scripture:

Mat 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

April came upon us as a tough month. Dr. Saneesh Cherian (Academic Dean) had to face a tough time as he and his wife had to minister (at home) to the dying mother of his wife. She passed away last week.

I had a very bad case of the flu and then a very badly sprained back. A sprained back is so painful that I do not want even my enemies to have it. Yesterday I was able to resume work in the office.

Kindly pray that we might be able to move pending work fast. This year the heat is so unbearable that we are unable to work. The government has imposed strict restriction upon the consumption of electricity and if Trinity building consumes more than 150 units (KW Hours) per month, we will have to pay four times the normal charge.

Kindly pray for everyone here!

When I was kid, my parents and I have spent a few years in a remote village in the South of our country. Villagers were good workers but it will not be lie at all to assume that they drink pure alcohol nearly as if they were drinking some water. Thus, in front of their children they could take their drink directly from the bottles without using a cup. One day however, something less ordinary happened. A kid of around four, whose mother used to sell oil, took a bottle containing oil and drank a bit more than an eighth of a liter! For sure, Prospère believed that it was alcohol, which was not less dangerous for him than what he actually drank.
This opens the question of children education. In fact, most people believe that their children should just listen to what they teach them and do exactly as they would have taught. Thus said, parents are very rigorous on treating their children so harshly. They play “the coaches” whereas their children are the “newly recruited” just as it is the case in the army.
But it seems that, in such a situation, parent nearly forget the other side of children education. In fact, our children are more likely to practice what we do than what we instruct them to do. Thus, a liar who teaches his son that lie is not good and even punish his son for having lied would rather stop lying himself so that he can set the pattern for his children. In other word, our habits speak more than our words. By being only an excellent theoretician, we simply teach our children to be hypocrite. After all, if it is not good to smoke cigarette or to drink alcohol, why does Dad do so?
The other trap is that, even if the children fear to replicate the wrong doings of their parents in the presence of the latters, they often decide to try the forbidden when parents are absent. In many cases, it just turns up to be a mere disobedience; but sometimes, it can be fatal to the children.
It may be that in the case of Prospère, his parents used to give him alcohol in small quantity. And if it is so, the situation is worse because by letting him taste the dreadful drink, they would be teaching him to perceive wrong as right and he would be bound to base his life principles upon mere biased theories.
Fortunately, it ended up well with Prospère for a neighbor saw him and brought him to the nearby infirmary where the nurse took care of him.
The Principle is clear: Don’t live other life than the one you are teaching your children to live. It will end up being the greatest harm you would ever do to him. And that is what the Bible wants us to avoid when it states: “Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
God bless you as you obey his commands

An article on sincere deception

Writing 001
Title: Sincere deception
Imagine that a chemist labeled a can of solution “Be careful; slow poison!”, but a deceiver arrived at a time when the house is empty and changed the label into “Pure Water”. At the arrival of the chemist, all the people in the house were about to drink the content of the can! Despite all the warnings of that latter the danger in drinking a slow poison, they decided to drink it anyway even before him, reasoning that they saw the can labeled “Pure Water” rather than “Sow Poison”
In most areas of the world, people think that Christianity is one of the world religions and they reason that they will not give up the beliefs of their forefathers to join a foreign religion. For those people, their religion also leads to God. Whatever you say, they consider you as a corrupted and a sold out. They are like the Israelites who rejected and continued to reject the Messiah who was sent to them. Those people are very sincere and even think that their religions are being rejected worldwide because they did not think enough to modernize them. That is why, in Benin, what was called “Temple of TRON (a god)” yesterday is today called “Church of TRON° and the follower of that occult cult are thought that TRON is the only one and true god to be worshipped and that it does not tolerate that one worships other things or even go to church. This makes the task tougher for evangelists. They believe now that they also are going to church (not to a satanic realm)! But is it enough to add the name “church” to an organization of darkness to transform it into a church of Jesus Christ? The answer is NO! And that is what an African proverb says “The stay of a tree trunk in water will never turn it into crocodile”. Even if the Bible is read somewhere, it is not sufficient to call that place “church”.
Those people are very sincere but their sincerity has nothing to do with reality. God have already traced the way to Him “ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me .” The problem in this is that new followers of those cults are made blind to any order thing and believe that they alone are “worshipping the true God”. The truth is that, before God, the sincerity of a man does not render him clean. He might have been the biggest in any field or the strongest defender of a religious philosophy but before God, he is guilty of the unpardonable fault, having not believed in Jesus Christ as Savior, and sentenced to eternal hell. Sincerity does not save anyone from the yet to come condemnation.
Dear reader, do you love people imprisoned by Satan in occult or even Christian cults? What do you do in their favor? Would you mind sparing 5 minutes for them a day this week to implore God in their favor so that they can open their heart and their minds to the truth?

I will, DV, have a surgery on my left hand on Monday the 12th of March. This is to relieve part of the pain caused by some nerves that are pressing against each other in the wrist area.

I will not be able to use my left hand for weeks, but the software that my friends have so generously sent me will be a great help. In fact I'm making this post with the help of that software. It is slowly learning to recognise my non-western accent.

Kindly keep praying for my surgery
I have no clue how big the state of Kerala is but I saw this and immediately thought you should know this Dr Philip.

Praise God, the authorites found her so she is safe now. She will come home a rather wealthy young woman, I hope. If the judge has any sense and pays all her back wages without the lawyer taking too big a cut.

Please pray for her family, they must be going through a horrible experience, all this time probably thinking their child is dead.

I am so ashamed of my country sometimes.
